How to Stream Project Management Resources on YouTube

Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of. One man gets only a week’s value out of a year while another man gets a full year’s value out of a week.

Last week I referred you to a website that allows you to stream videos from YouTube based on a search term. I thought it was a good idea for language learning as there are a ton of language videos, blogs and resources available for those who enjoy learning languages.

What I discovered is that there are also a lot of project management resources waiting to be streamed for those eager to learn for free. To take advantage of the site, go to: www.infinitube.net.

As with most search engines, what people search on is what they get out of it, so don’t be bothered with the Previous Search Terms which can be kind of raunchy. Following are some tips on how to get streaming Project Management goodness from YouTube:

  1. Search on familiar acronyms associated with Project Management: PMBOK, PMP, Project Management PERT
You will find a slew of videos with resources on how to study effectively for the PMP or how to approach PMBOK4.  To avoid the sleazier aspects of the YouTube, you’ll need to preface most of your acronyms with “Project” otherwise, you might be surprised in the middle of your stream with something not kid-ready.
  2. Search on the Knowledge Areas
Project Time Management, Project Scope Management, again, keeping Project in front will focus the videos on Project Management info.
  3. Search on key aspects of Project Management effectiveness
Some examples: Facilitation, Leadership or Conflict Management.

I thought this was a great resource for taking advantage of what is on YouTube. Let me know if you find any other great search terms to use to dig out the goodness. Leave me a comment or send me a tweet, my id is jgodfrey.
